Remember our freedom this Fourth of July by adding a few delicious (and healthy!) red, white and blue dishes to your backyard get together. The easiest way to keep your dining festive is plenty of berries! Strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, boysenberries, regular and white cherries make a healthy and appropriately colored fruit spread for your party. Filled with antioxidants and plenty of other nutrients, berries are an easy snack to prepare and healthier alternative to potato chips. We found a great blog, DietsInReview.com with delicious red, white and blueberry turkey burger sliders. Finding lean turkey for your burgers is much healthier than red meat; just make sure the package reads lean. Opt for whole wheat slider burger buns to make sure you have whole grains with your meals. Plus, that blueberry balsamic reduction looks amazing! We're going to have to keep up with this blog because she also features a red, white and blue sangria. Using white wine, a touch of healthier fruit juice and your extra fruit from your fruit salad, you have a festive drink that is healthier than cheap light beer. What about dessert? In case your fruit bowl isn't quite doing the trick, try out these U.S.A. flag pops from SuperHealthyKids.com. Everything tastes better when it's in popsicle form, right? Make sure you choose a yogurt that is low in fat and sugar because the sweetness can add up. We all remember rocket pops from the ice cream truck - these are healthier AND tastier, we promise!
